EHMC Patients’ Association and ElliottEar

Welcome to the EHMC Patients’ Association

The formation of a Patients’ Association in 1993 has led to a successful patient-practice partnership and a resulting improvement in services. The objective of The Elliott Hall Medical Centre Patients’ Association, (EHMCPA)was to harness the support of patients to help the Primary Health Care Team develop a service sensitive to the needs of the locality. It has resulted in the rekindling of community spirit, a partnership between the practice and the patients, the shaping of the patient service, and the development of volunteer activities.

The EHMCPA is a registered charity that provides services directly to patients, supports patients’ groups, liaises closely with the practice, and organises fundraising events to support these initiatives. All patients are automatically members of the Patients’ Association – and are updated with the goings on in the ElliottEar.

The Patients’ Association newsletter, The ElliottEar, shares the Association’s activities and conveys important medical news to every patient registered at Elliott Hall Medical Centre.  With effect from the October 2023 edition it is being circulated digitally to all patients who have provided the surgery with a mobile number to receive texts or an email address.  Previous editions of paper copies are also available for reference on the website.  If you would like a copy of the latest version please click on the Newsletter link shown below

The Patients’ Association, along with surgery staff, won the British Medical Journal award for Primary Care Team of 2021.  In 2022, the Association won the Royal College of General Practitioners (North West) award for Outstanding Team in Primary Care.
