Travel Vaccinations updated 7.4.17

In order to balance the demand in appointments, we are streamlining the way we manage our travel appointments.

Patients who are travelling will need to obtain their immunisation history (this is available online for those with online Patient Access) or can be requested via the reception desk. This information can be used in conjunction with the travel health information website to determine if vaccinations and an appointment is needed:

http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk or

http://travelhealthpro.org.uk

There is no longer a need to hand in the travel questionnaire in advance of booking an appointment, this form can be filled in and brought to your appointment on the day.

We have limited appointments in the system for travel vaccinations and you are advised to book well in advance of travelling (6 weeks or more) in order to ensure vaccinations are effective for the time of travelling.

If there are no appointments available for travel vaccinations in the time frame you require, you have the option to book an appointment with a local private travel clinic.  Please refer to the document below for information on private travel clinics.

Thank you for your co-operation.

When travelling abroad we recommend that you take advice on the health risks and that you do this at least two months in advance of travelling. If you are embarking on a complex itinerary then we need information on all the destinations you intend to travel to , even if its a stop over.

You can also find out the recommended vaccinations for different countries by visiting  www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk

Please note that there is a charge for some vaccinations. Please contact the reception team or enquire at the front desk for up to date information on charges.
