Patients’
Association of the Elliott Hall Medical Centre
Request For More Volunteers
Your
Patients' Association Needs YOU!

Our Patients' Association has been running for many years and provides a
number of valuable services to patients and we are grateful to all those who
currently volunteer or have volunteered in the past. This has contributed to
the success of the Patients' Association as we know it today. However, we need
extra volunteers to help maintain our work and the Association is therefore
appealing for your support. None of the volunteer activities require a huge
amount of time and a full explanation will be given to you before you make any
commitment. We are also looking for new ideas and for people with particular
skills that would help us in our work.
Please look at the list below and if you feel you would like to help
contact Lesley Walmsley, the
Association’s Chairman , c/o the Elliott Hall Medical Centre.
You will find details about the services we offer in the biannual
ElliottEar newsletter. If you would like more information please feel free to
ring any of the co-ordinators or Committee members whose telephone numbers are
given in the ElliottEar.
Please help if you can. Thank you.

THE PATIENTS' ASSOCIATION
Perhaps sometimes you find yourself
At a loss for what to do.
Maybe for the whole of a day
Or just an hour or two.
There are many elderly people
Who would love to know you care.
Our Patients' Association
Could use the time you have to spare.
It's not easy for some people
To admit they need a hand,
Perhaps a lift, a bit of shopping
Or just someone to understand.
Could you be part of a team
One of our patient volunteers,
Sustaining the services offered
For almost thirteen years.
We are very proud of what we do
And sometimes cannot quite believe,
With the support of all our helpers,
What we've been able to achieve.
It might be that you know someone
Who can offer a helping hand
People from all walks of life
Can join our happy band.
Playing a part in a close community
Is the satisfaction that you get.
A stranger, as the saying goes,
Is just a friend you haven't met.
For all of us there will come a time,
Whether working men or mothers,
When we reach those twilight years
And may need the help of others.
YOU could be that person
Who gives just a little back,
Responsible for giving someone
The independence that they lack.
If anyone would like to help
Please give some consideration,
Become a valued volunteer
For the Patients' Association.
