trained staff, who have a wide range of education and experience in cancer nursing,
district nursing and palliative care. They are in contact with the local GPs
and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of health and social
professionals, co-ordinating care and providing continuity between hospital,
hospice and home.
The level of involvement of the Macmillan
nurses can vary from telephone advice to a single meeting or continued support
over a longer period, depending on individual needs.

We have phlebotomy clinics at the Medical
Centre several times each week.
These are all in the mornings, so that the samples can be taken to the hospital
laboratory at lunchtime. Most tests can be carried out in house, but you
will be
asked to make an appointment at The Wealdstone Centre if you need a Glucose
Tolerance Test.
